My name is Kevin Smullin and when I was a 22 year old kid, I decided that real estate was the way that I was going to make all of my money on this planet. It looked like such a fun career...showing homes, helping people build their wealth, and making a great income at the same time.
As a 22 year old kid, I had been married less than a year to my beautiful wife, Wendy. We were two struggling kids trying to make ends meet. We decided that real estate was the right career move. Wendy was working and going to school at the same time and we thought that I would be able to succeed in real estate to take the financial pressures off of us.
My biggest desire was to provide for our new family and make her proud of me.
Little did I know, I had a MAJOR obstacle in my way...I didn't have a consistent source of leads that lead to a transaction.
When I had finished my real estate licensing, I really thought that the hard part of the business was behind me. I just assumed that people would line up to do business with me. Well, you know what they say about assuming...
As I would go into the office, and see agents who were where I wanted to be. They were doing 5+ transactions each month and providing a great life for their family.
I would do the same things that they would do. I would cold call, knock on doors, hold open houses, call my friends and family and nothing worked CONSISTENLY. Sure, I would close one for sale by owner deal this month, and a deal for my family member 3 months later. There were so many times that it would be months between closings and it was hard coming home every day, looking at my wife who was working so hard to make ends meet for us and I didn't have any new closings. It was like a punch to the gut every day.
At that point in my life, I didn't learn how to generate a consistent source of leads and so I had to quit real estate. It was a devastating blow to my confidence.
I took a job at a marketing consulting company. This is where things really turned around for me. I learned the power of a constant lead source, lead conversion techniques, and relationship marketing. I was consistently helping people double their business in 12 months.
I then studied social media and learned the power it has to make people more visible than ever before. When you combine the powers of strategic marketing and the visibility of social media, it is a match made in heaven.
I used this knowledge to create our marketing system and started teaching it and implementing it for real estate agents. Why real estate agents? It's simple...I wanted to help any agent avoid the pain of failing in real estate.
Since that time, I have worked with thousands of agents, generated over 100,000 leads, helped agents close hundreds of thousands of dollars in commissions, and recently earned an award as one of the top 25 coaches in the real estate industry.
